Pritzker Adds New VP to Services Team

Pritzker Group Private Capital has added George Couto to the firm’s services investment team as a Vice President.

In his new position with Pritzker he will help source and execute new investments as well as work with the management teams of the portfolio companies in the firm’s services portfolio. Led by Ryan Roberts and Gregg Kaplan, the Pritzker services team invests in and operates companies across the services sector with a particular focus on tech-enabled, supply chain and industrial services.

Mr. Couto was formerly with New York-based Palladium Equity Partners where he helped execute several multi-hundred million-dollar transactions and worked closely with portfolio company management teams to develop corporate strategy.

“Hiring George to complete our services team significantly enhances our ability to work with services companies in our target industries,” said Paul Carbone, Managing Partner of Pritzker Group Private Capital. “Using our scale, long term capital, and experience with family-owned services companies, we look to provide differentiated solutions to business owners, build great, sustainable companies and deliver superior service to our customers.”

Mr. Couto has an MBA from Harvard, and Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering degrees from Stevens Institute of Technology.

“George’s experience investing in and working with family-owned businesses further strengthens our services team and reinforces our position as partner of choice among family-, entrepreneur- and management-owned services companies,” said Mr. Roberts.

Pritzker Group Private Capital’s current portfolio of service companies include PECO Pallet, a North American provider of pallet rental services and logistics; ENTACT, an environmental remediation and geotechnical construction services company; and Entertainment Cruises, one of the nation’s largest dining cruise companies.

Pritzker Group, founded by Managing Partner Tony Pritzker and J.B. Pritzker, has three principal investment teams: Private Capital, which acquires and operates North America-based middle-market companies in the manufactured products, services and healthcare sectors; Venture Capital, which provides early-stage and growth venture funding to technology companies; and Asset Management, which partners with investment managers across global public markets.  The Pritzker Group is based in Chicago (www.pritzkergroup.com).
